Odds Hunt: How Many Bets Until the $10 Freebet at LoL Worlds

Worlds 2026 kicked off in Los Angeles on October 15, and the first teams on stage were the four Play-In sides: Karmine Corp, Cloud9, MVK Esports and FURIA. Only one of the four moves on to the next stage, the Swiss format. While they fight for that single ticket, Coins.Game is running a LoL Worlds promo: for every x15 of summed odds on winning bets you get a $10 freebet. It sounds simple until you open the conditions. We opened them, read them and did the math.

The rules of the hunt

Two details decide everything. First: after each freebet is credited, progress resets to zero. Second, and far more important: if even one bet loses, the accumulated sum of odds burns and the count starts from scratch. How the freebet itself is settled is not spelled out in the promo rules, so check that in your bonus cabinet.

The calendar that cuts the hunt short

The promo runs until Sunday, while Worlds stretches to November 14. The Swiss stage starts on October 23 in Allen, Texas, which is after the promo ends. Only the Play-In is left for the hunt:

• October 16, Friday: the upper final Karmine Corp vs MVK and the lower semifinal Cloud9 vs FURIA, where the loser is out of Worlds;
• October 17, Saturday: the lower final, where the loser of the upper final meets the winner of Cloud9 vs FURIA;
• October 18, Sunday: the deciding series for the only ticket to the Swiss stage.

That makes four series. Today only two of them have known participants, and the Saturday and Sunday teams become clear after the results. If you count only match winners, reaching a sum of x15 in such a short queue is hard: a series has many markets, but every new bet is a new risk of resetting.

Four teams, one ticket

One curious detail of the format: for the first time the Play-In has no teams from China or Korea. The main favorites of the whole Worlds, including T1, who are chasing a fourth title in a row, join later, in the Swiss stage. So right now the line is made up of teams that still have to make their way to the big favorites.

The math of x15

Let us take fair odds, with no bookmaker margin. In reality the chances are slightly worse, but the order of magnitude is clear. There are four ways to reach x15:

The conclusion is unexpected. The more bets you place, the smaller the chance of getting the streak to the end without a loss: any miss resets the sum. The best path is a single accumulator with odds of 15: you risk $5, and the chance is 1 in 15. If it lands, you get a $75 payout and a $10 freebet on top.

Now the honest part. In a bet like this the freebet works as a nice extra, not as a way to make money. If you count it at the full $10, its expected value for the accumulator is $10 x 6.7%, about 67 cents. This is a case where the promo decorates a bet you wanted to place anyway, and it is not a reason to bet.

How to hunt sensibly

• Set a ceiling in advance. A $5 minimum is already a stake, not a warm-up. Decide how much you are ready to lose and do not go past it.
• Do not chase the streak. A loss resets progress but does not oblige you to win it back. A new attempt should not be bigger than the previous one.
• Bet on what you understand. Watch the maps and drafts, not only the odds. Karmine's series against Cloud9 showed that even at 1:2 in maps a series can still be won.
• Watch the clock. The promo closes on Sunday at 23:59 UTC, and a bet counts only with the "won" status.
