Three New Hacksaw Slots: Arctic Duel, Jade Path and Wot's Cluck'in

In a single week three slots from Hacksaw Gaming appeared in the Coins.Game lobby. A snowman in a helmet throws grenades and grows a multiplier. A jungle queen guards five jackpots. And on the farm, hens lay colored eggs with dynamite inside. We opened all three in demo, read the rules from the first line to the last and handed each one its own "Hacksaw award".

Arctic Duel: the snowman who grows a multiplier

A game with an icy mood and a warlike snowman in a green helmet. Cascades remove winning symbols, and "walking wilds" (Walking Wild) appear on the grid. The main mechanism here is the global multiplier. By default it is 1x and applies to all wins. In the base game it resets with every new spin.

A walking wild can carry a value from 1x to 100x. When such a wild takes part in a win, its value is added to the global multiplier, but it works from the next win, not the one that unlocked it. After a win the wild picks a direction and moves one reel left or right. If two wilds collide on one cell, the global multiplier grows by a random value at once.

The bonuses have stricter rules. Three scatters trigger Carrot Heist: 8 free spins. Four scatters trigger Arctic Showdown: 10 spins and a starting multiplier of 5x, with a wild guaranteed on the first spin. In both bonuses the global multiplier is progressive and does not reset until the end of the round, and every two wilds that leave the grid give one more free spin.

The Jade Path Hold & Win: Queen Aisha and five jackpots

A classic Hold & Win in the jungle. It is triggered by three orbs with coins or jackpots at the same time. The bonus starts with three lives, and every new orb that lands on the grid refills them. When the lives run out, the game ends.

Coins pay from 0.2x to 50x the bet. There are five jackpots:

A separate hook is the jaguar multiplier from 2x to 20x. It multiplies the values of all coins on the grid but leaves jackpots alone. If the grid is completely filled with orbs, all values are paid out, the lives go back to three and the orbs are cleared.

Three bonus scatters give a choice of two bonuses. Warrior Riches is 10 free spins with a sticky warrior wild. Jade Bounty Hold & Win starts with at least five special symbols, and its coins are never below 1x. The RTP depends on the choice too: 94.24% for the warrior and 94.37% for the bounty. There is also a BonusHunt mode: the demo screen says that for a doubled bet the chance of a bonus grows three times.

Wot's Cluck'in Down on the farm: the farm, eggs and the wheel

The biggest slot of the three by grid: 7x7, and wins come from clusters of five or more identical symbols. Coins here do not pay on their own: they go into the "Cheeky Chicken Machine" and turn into colored eggs with effects:

There is also a "max win wheel" symbol. It starts a wheel of ten sectors: one gives the maximum 15,000x, the other nine pay 5x, 10x, 25x, 50x, 100x, 200x, 250x, 500x or 1,000x the bet. If two scatters land, a "second chance" kicks in: both are locked and the other reels spin again in search of a third.

Three, four or five scatters trigger Golden Eggs Drop Frenzy: 10, 12 or 15 free spins. In each one, one to three golden eggs drop onto the grid and work as wilds with a multiplier. Every time an egg takes part in a win, its multiplier doubles (2x, 4x, 8x, 16x and so on up to 1,024x). If a spin has no win, the eggs fly into a piggy bank and come out on the last spin together with a bonus egg of 2x to 10x.

The categories and winners are ours, an assessment of mechanics from the rules we read, not a ranking of payouts. One more observation: all three slots have an RTP of 94.24% to 94.37%. On average that means $5.6 to $5.8 of losses per hundred wagered. For comparison, the recent BGaming releases we covered have an RTP of 96%, that is $4 per hundred.
