CS2 Major in Cologne Favourites

As they have been for months, Vitality remain the team to beat. Below, we'll explain why — and who still has a chance to challenge the dominance of the French organization, who else you can bet on.

Vitality

Roster: apEX, ZywOo, ropz, flameZ, mezii

Strengths: flawless teamwork; ZywOo is arguably the best player in the world right now; world-class lurking from ropz; apEX's champion mentality and leadership.

Weaknesses: apEX's individual firepower; every opponent prepares specifically for them.

Vitality's weaknesses are largely theoretical. Every player can take over a game, and their teamplay is second to none. It's difficult to name a map where opponents have a clear advantage. Inferno may be their least convincing battleground, where they occasionally drop maps, especially in the early stages of tournaments.

Outplaying Vitality strategically is almost impossible. To eliminate them, opponents will likely need an extraordinary individual performance from a superstar such as mONESY of Falcons or donk of Spirit.

Falcons

Roster: karrigan, NiKo, mONESY, kyousuke, TeSeS

Strengths: karrigan's tactical brilliance; elite AWPing from mONESY; devastating rifle play from NiKo and kyousuke.

Weaknesses: TeSeS is the least star-studded player in the lineup and could become the weak link; karrigan's trademark smoke pushes often end in predictable deaths.

Falcons appear to have become even stronger after replacing kyxsan with the legendary karrigan, although the roster is still relatively new. Karrigan's ability to elevate teams on the biggest stages is well documented from his years with FaZe Clan.

mONESY remains one of the world's premier snipers, kyousuke has reached outstanding form, and even veteran NiKo continues to perform at an elite level. The only player consistently criticized by analysts is TeSeS, making him a potential Achilles' heel. karrigan's occasionally overaggressive style — now well known to opponents — could also prove costly.

As mentioned above, only an incredible individual performance is likely to bring down Vitality, and Falcons have three players capable of delivering exactly that.

FURIA

Roster: FalleN, KSCERATO, YEKINDAR, molodoy, yuurih

Strengths: FalleN's experience; elite AWPing from molodoy; KSCERATO's exceptional rifle skills; YEKINDAR's lurking ability.

Weaknesses: FalleN is no longer in his prime, while molodoy still lacks experience at the highest level; YEKINDAR can be inconsistent.

The Brazilian organization, now featuring an international roster, has already demonstrated its potential by reaching the top of the HLTV rankings. Although the team has struggled somewhat in recent events, they are expected to peak at exactly the right moment.

Molodoy and KSCERATO are the team's biggest weapons, but the supporting cast is equally dangerous. Yuurih often becomes the unexpected hero, capable of almost single-handedly winning maps.

If their stars perform consistently at their highest level, FURIA will be one of the strongest contenders for the championship.

Natus Vincere

Roster: Aleksib, b1t, iM, makazze, w0nderful

Strengths: B1ad3, widely regarded as the best coach in Counter-Strike; makazze's phenomenal current form; b1t's unmatched headshot precision.

Weaknesses: w0nderful has yet to become a consistently elite AWPer; Aleksib's individual mechanics; b1t can occasionally tilt if things go wrong.

NaVi recently ended their losing streak against Vitality by eliminating them from a playoff event, which may have removed an important psychological barrier.

On paper, Vitality still have the stronger lineup, while Falcons and FURIA arguably possess greater firepower as well. However, NaVi's greatest strength has always been their tactical approach. Both B1ad3 and Aleksib are capable of surprising any opponent with innovative strategies.

The team also possesses remarkable mental resilience. The biggest concern remains b1t's occasional emotional swings, though they rarely last beyond a single map.

If makazze continues performing as he has in recent tournaments, and b1t, iM, and w0nderful all hit peak form, the Born to Win squad could realistically lift the Major trophy.

Team Spirit

Roster: magixx, donk, sh1ro, zont1x, tN1R

Strengths: donk is the best rifler in the world; sh1ro thrives under pressure and delivers in the biggest matches; magixx has become much more impactful as captain; tN1R finally appears fully integrated into the lineup.

Weaknesses: only donk and sh1ro are true superstars; the roster is still relatively new.

As long as donk wears the Spirit jersey, the team will always be considered one of the favorites.

Unlike the other contenders on this list, Spirit had to begin their campaign from the earlier stage rather than entering directly into the final phase. Donk has already shown that his AK-47 remains as terrifying as ever, producing statistics that most professionals could only dream of.

Sh1ro possesses nerves of steel and has a unique ability to improve as the pressure increases.

Beyond those two, however, Spirit have fewer game-changing stars than their rivals. While the lineup is undoubtedly strong, the zont1x–tN1R duo cannot currently be compared to pairings like ropz–flameZ or NiKo–kyousuke. Even NaVi's makazze and iM arguably offer greater impact.

As always with Spirit, the question is simple: Will donk destroy everyone – or won't he?
